Inline Filters:

Our line of Giuliani Anello inline filters are engineered to remove impurities from fuel during larger dispenses. These filters prove invaluable when changing or cleaning storage tanks to maintain the optimal condition of your heating oil. Additionally, our bowl filters are designed to eliminate fine particles in the fuel and address water accumulation caused by condensation within the storage tank.

Water Separating Oil Filters:

Our water separating oil filter serves the purpose of monitoring and removing water build-up in your system, functioning as effective water trap filters. Identified by their transparent plastic filter bowls, these filters allow you to easily detect and drain any accumulated water as needed. Another term for these filters is “water-separating filters.”

Combination Oil Tank Filter

When you purchase a new heating oil tank, many of them include a combination filter valve. This type of oil tank filter combines a filter with an isolation valve. However, it’s important to note that even if these oil tank filters come with an isolating valve as part of the oil storage tank unit, it’s advisable to consider a separate shut-off valve.

Which filter do i need for my oil heating system ?

There are 3 different types of heating oil filter and replacement heating oil filter elements.

Inline filters – with either paper or steel filter elements, these are usually 30 micron for paper elements or 100 microns for steel elements.

Water Trap Filter or Water separator filters – These usually have a clear bowl so you can see the water build up and will have a drain tap to allow its removal.

Filter Valves – Filter vales are usually a combination of a filter with an isolation valve. Such as the Atkinson Filter Valve or the AFV-1000.

Ive heard something about not being allowed to use plastic bowl filters anymore ?

The OFTEC recommendation’s have change regarding plastic bowl filters and deaerators, but these are at the moment only recommendations the BSI have not adopted this, nor has building regulations, so having any of these items in your system would only be classed as a minor non conformance, unless these regulations change.
