The oil tank sight gauge level ball, aka the red pea!

Red Level indicator ball for your oil tank sight gauge. An aluminium, hollow red ball that floats on Kerosene and Diesel, brightly coloured to aid visual indication of your oil level. This product is compatible with both the Atkinson Tankmaster sight tube and the Atkinson Push Button sight tube.

Due to the process of anodising the colouring will always include 2 small clear patches or similar markings, this is normal and does not impede the function and use of the float.  The coloured anodising is primarily a visual aid and the red colour in particular will vary in shade from batch to batch.

After a while, sight gauges can cloud over due to weathering. It can be increasingly difficult to read the fuel level in your tank once this happens, which is why we offer the red pea as a solution! The brightly coloured ball will float on top of the oil which means you’ll be able to read the level of your fuel regardless of the condition of your gauge.

Another solution is to replace the PVC sight tubing, this can be supplied in 60-metre or 30-metre coils as well as in cut lengths. The price is either per coil or per metre depending on the length you require. Find this here

TIP WHEN FITTING:

Cut on an angle of about 45° to prevent a vacuum from being caused when the black cap is fitted. Cut about 15mm longer than the sight shield to allow for shrinkage.
