Float operated contents gauge for oil tanks

Simple, float operated gauges suitable for both oil and diesel/fuel tanks. These are for 4ft tanks and there is also an adjustable universal version available (Suitable for tanks up to 2M deep – the adjustment is made via a screw control on the side of the dial face cover).

These sorts of gauges do exactly as the name suggests and have a float that goes up and down with the oil level. The float is connected to the gauge that sits on the top of the tank with a string. The string is wound around the mechanism in the gauge that will turn the dial depending on the level of the oil. Commonly known as a float on a rope gauge or cat and mouse gauge.

Please note: some sizes come with a square body and others with a round body; the universal version measures in centimetres rather than showing the ‘Full-3/4-1/2-1/4-Empty’ markings of the fixed depth versions. We can supply a ‘Combivent’ fitting that fits over a 2″ vent pipe and provides a 1-1/2″ female thread that allow the gauge to simply screw into the top of this (making fitting extremely easy).  1-1/2″ BSP Male Threaded for tank attachment.

Float operated contents gauge for oil tanks are usually fitted into a 1 1/2″ or 2″ port on your fuel tank, however if you have a 2″ port you will need the combivent adaptor that will convert it from 2″ to 1 1/2″ to connect your float gauge. Please see the combivent fitting here – Combivent Adaptor
